Oscar Craig highest placing amateur at Challenge Tour UAE Challenge
Oscar Craig (Y13) participated on the Challenge Tour UAE Challenge in Abu Dhabi on 25th-28th April. He qualified for the European Tour event by winning the RAK Open at Al Hamra. Oscar carded a blemish free opening round of 69 and a second-round score of 73, ensuring that he made the cut with a net -2 score. Oscar was the only amateur to make the cut and the youngest player in the weekend field. He battled hard against professional players from around the world and carded a level par 72 in round 3 and 76 in round 4. Oscar finished in 60th place with a net +2 score.
Speaking after the event Oscar said: 'It was an amazing experience. Making the cut gives me the confidence to know I can compete at this level and the motivation to continue to pursue a professional career.'
Oscar is a member of the FPS Golf Centre of Excellence and plans to take a year out continuing to train and play in UAE before attending a US College.
