Regan Ferreira
Primary Head of Inclusion
My name is Regan Ferreira, and I am a devoted, collaborative educator with leadership experience who thrives on providing students with the best possible start to their education and life. After relocating to Dubai from London in December 2022, I began my journey at GEMS FirstPoint School (FPS) as a SEND teacher and Head of Inclusion (Primary). This academic year, I have taken on the role of Head of Inclusion for the whole school, furthering my commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all students.
I have been an educator for fifteen years, during which time I have been honored to teach hundreds of exceptional and diverse children in South Africa, London, and Dubai. Most importantly, I have acquired invaluable lessons from the inspiring children I have educated. I believe that every child flourishes when presented with opportunities to experience success and can reach their full potential every day, every week, and every year.
Real and meaningful inclusion is something I am very passionate about, demonstrated through my drive and commitment to Students of Determination. Before joining FPS, I worked at a primary school in London as the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), Personal, Social, Health, and Economics (PSHE) lead teacher, Deputy Safeguarding Officer, a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and the head of lunchtimes and playtimes. I have been awarded the distinction for the SENDCo accreditation by the University of Roehampton, London, and am currently studying to complete my Master’s Degree specializing in Autism and ADHD.
I have already had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful children and families at FPS, who have all welcomed me with warm smiles and words of encouragement. I look forward to working in partnership with you to support the children at FPS to reach their full potential and grow as life-long learners.
