Patrick Kennedy
Secondary Head of Inclusion
I am pleased to have been appointed as the Head of Inclusion at Gems FirstPoint School – The Villa, to lead the Inclusion team and support learners of determination. I graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a degree in Computing in Business, and then completed a PGCE. From this I taught in an all-through school in Bradford, West Yorkshire for 10 years. I had a range of responsibilities, including Director of Progress and Attainment for Year 12 and 13, before completing the SENCO qualification.
Throughout my teaching career I have always advocated for students with additional needs to ensure the curriculum and environment best supports them. Since 2020, I have been working in a large secondary school in Mirfield and have been the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion. I take pride in developing professionally and have attained a Masters in Educational Leadership and the NPQML. I am currently completing the NPQSL.
In my spare time I enjoy reading and cycling, and am hoping to explore Dubai and further afield with my family.
